The purpose of psyops is to create a universe in which the target will voluntarily do what you want them to do. By influencing the state of mind of your enemy you can leverage a significant advantage in battle. But how exactly are these goals achieved? Surely the wisdom of the masses can overcome a few misleading internet articles and parlour tricks no?
In my research, one of the first lessons I learned is that strategies of war in general are always progressing. They become more and more sophisticated and complex as each side advances and learns from one another. Like predator and prey that coevolve to maintain the natural balance. Strategies are in part what you do, but also what you can get your opponent to do. For instance, counter attacks are often far more effective than direct ones, so it is advantageous to bait an opponent to expose and exhaust himself first before you strike. Psyop strategies are no different. The strategies that we will uncover in this section are like psyops 101. There is a sophistication to modern psyops that I have a hard time keeping up with but I will do my best to lay out what I have understood so far in the most straightforward terms. As I discovered more and more layers of deception I found it harder to sort out and so I suspect it will go similarly for you as you read on. But let’s start at the basic tactics to show how states of mind are influenced by a state funded psychological military operation and we’ll go from there.
